“ First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge wait staff and management/ ownership, you have created a rather fine establishment, a new gem in DTWSNC for those of us looking for something new, the new “IT” spot if you will and none the less perfect for a pleasant night out with absolute pallet pleasing scrumptious cuisine! This location is living up to the art of chef inspired dining, the quality of ingredients is what you’d want and expect, the combinations that they have created for their dishes; spectacular. I have worked and dined with many fine establishments and I have seen the good, the bad, the ugly, the cheap, the fake, the list goes on.... But Sage and Salt has really done the damn thing, excuse my French! When you have been taught or told a proper fillet should be so tender it melts in your mouth like butter..... I have finally experienced this. We also had a Ribeye and hands down best quality and tenderness I’ve ever seen in a ribeye and the marbling within perfectly melted into the steak, along with the lovely char, I believe my filet was pan seared and it was served with bordelaise, absolute perfection. Also highly recommend the Mac and cheese, double backed potatoes, wedge salad to share and Tuna tower, so much flavor on every plate they serve here. You see, this restaurant is a whole experience, it is much smaller than your average fine restaurant yet that is not an issue in my opinion rather a huge pro, why you may ask? Because you are given exceptional attention and service, from EVERYONE on the floor who works here, you are given, quiet frankly what you are paying for my friends. The coursing of the meal, prefect, the check backs, perfect, attention to refills, never empty, management/ownership seeing how your meal is, check that off too. For those complaining about price; the portions are great for what you get, do not underestimate these dishes you will be full and probably have takeaways for later. Our first time here was a wonderful experience we will never forget and most likely at the #1 spot for restaurants in WS, we plan to come once a month if not more. I mean this blew 600 and, Ryan’s -just to name a couple-out the water. “ Big shout out to the owners and managers who kept the restaurant open past closing to accommodate our graduation dinner plans. After our 2 Wake Forest grads had their flight delayed 10 hours (coming back from a wedding) we had to reschedule our dinner reservation. We are so thankful to Co Owner Brandon who accommodated our party of 12 and the staff who served up a wonderful table of appetizers and entrees. The crab and artichoke dip and scallops were wonderful and the filet was cooked to perfection. We are grateful beyond words for this small act of kindness. This seemingly small gesture made for an extra special night for our families that could have been lost - we thank you again and we will be back! ”

“ Spent the day exploring Winston-Salem with my husband. We were headed to a different restaurant, but after reading mixed reviews, I hopped on Google maps to look at more options. After reading the fabulous reviews about Sage and salt, we both agreed that we need to try this place! We met Brandon, one of the owners, and he blew us away with his hospitality. The hostess Layla is a sweetheart as well, our server Nick was fantastic and Kate, the GM was wonderful. I was told Chef Pat has worked with top restaurants and trained to make the most delicious foods. We think he has nailed it! Sage & Salt’s staff go over & above. First class service all the way! I had the Pan-Seared Scottish salmon & it was like none other that I have ever tasted. The jumbo shrimp was actually jumbo and so fresh! We also tried the Shishito peppers, pork belly Sriracha honey, & flat iron steak chimichurri. My husband’s Pan-seared scallops with English Pea risotto was mouth watering. “ There was nothing about our initial visit to Sage & Salt that didn’t impress. We sat at the bar (reservations on Open Table are broken out for bar, dining room and both patios) and enjoyed drinks and dinner in the very capable hands of Tom behind the bar. He made excellent drink and dinner suggestions (he makes one heck of a Manhattan). Our appetizer choice was the tuna tower, very fresh with flavors that complemented each other well. For entrees we had the rack of lamb and sea scallops, both perfectly cooked and delicious. Their cheesecake comes from Alex’s so you know it’s top notch, and the rice pudding brulee was a creative take on a traditional dessert. Cannot recommend this place enough, it has a great “it” factor that makes it a welcome addition to the WS restaurant scene. We’re already planning our next trip there. ”

“ This is a complete gem. The bar is gorgeous and so cool to be able to see the kitchen. The space is really beautiful and its cool how much of the the original building has been retained. Because it was unseasonably warm out, we opted to sit outside. Views of the skyline is a real treat. The staff were attentive and helpful. We were puzzled by the seasoning in the mashed potatoes. Delicious, but we couldn't put our finger on it. Our server happily asked the chef... rosemary. Mmmm... the food was spectacular. Our daughter had the steak, it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The wedge was perfectly dressed. My husband had the potato leek soup and loved it. Nice depth of flavor, filling, but not heavy. And we had the steak tartar and the crab mango corn tower. Both were amazing. Usually I have to ask for salt, but the food was perfectly seasoned. Next time we are in town, we will be back. Well done! ”

“ I had a delicious meal here last week! I came for a solo birthday dinner on Friday around 630pm and was able to sit at the bar immediately. The bar looks into the kitchen so you can see all of the activity going on. I took a look at their menu and opted for their smoked old fashioned, bacon wrapped scallops, and the grilled shrimp pasta primavera. Everything was scrumptious. I don't even like old-fashioned, but I can't turn down a drink when there's the option to have it smoked! And the drink itself was so smooth, had just a touch of sweetness that let me enjoy and sip on it slowly throughout my meal. The bacon scallops were out of this world- so tender and juicy and full of flavor, and the same goes for my pasta. It had such a savory but also light cream sauce that just satisfied my palate perfectly. I should have tried a dessert but I was too full for any more food. This is definitely some place to treat yourself! It is pricier, no doubt, but worth every cent and I would recommend it for any special occasion. Service was friendly, attentive, all around just a really great dining experience here. One very small note- the bar seats are an awkward 2-3 inches too short, in my opinion! I felt like the counter was just too high- but that doesn't detract from the quality of the food or service at all! Highly recommend adding this spot on WS bucket list. ”

Extensive drink selections, salad was fresh, tasty and shred with more than enough, bread service and crab dip was delicious, shrimp primavera was as divine but the half chicken was out of this world! The server knew her recommendations and was spot on. The mine music was an added bonus. The place is for to exceed expectations. Don’t miss this if in the area. ”
